Revisions to Title II and Title III of 28 CFR Part 35 go into affect on March 15, 2012. These requirements make changes to the accesible means offered at both public and private pools. We offer many Pool Lifts independently verified as complaint with the new ADA regulations.

Public Pools
Covered under Title II and include but are not limited to Parks, Schools and Universities, Municipal Pools, Various City and County Pools

Private Pools
Commercial facilities including Hotels, Fitness Centers, private gyms, Private Schools and Universities, Waterparks, Hospitals, Health Care Facilities, and Timeshares
Some private residences such as apartments are also required under Title III to provide accessible equipment at their pools. Consult the American with Disabilities Act Homepage for more details on covered entities.

Minimum Requirments for Pool Lifts to be ADA Compliant

  • Fully Operational by user, without assistance
  • 300 lbs. minimum weight capacity
  • Solid Seat at least 16" wide capable of reaching 18" below water level
  • Certain deck clearing is required
  • Armrest highly reccomended and may be required in some areas

    Any pool measuring 300 linear feet or more must have two accesible means (one must be pool lift). Any pool under 300 linear feet needs only one access point which can be a pool lift or sloped entry

    All public and commercial pools must meet new standards. There are no excemtpions from new law.
    Lift must be pool side and operational during business hours.
